The Nigeria Police Force on Monday arraigned a 49-year-old man, Segun Aderinwale, before a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, over an alleged N800,000 fraud.
Aderinwale was charged on a two-count charge of obtaining money under false pretence, contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code Law of Osun State.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adesuyi, told the court that the defendant fraudulently obtained the sum of Eight Hundred Thousand Naira from one Babarunde Ogundele under the pretence of assisting him to acquire a plot of land.
He said the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Sections 4 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr. Tubosun Oladipupo, made an oral application for bail in the most liberal terms.
Ruling on the application, the presiding Magistrate, Muibat Olatunji, granted the accused bail in the sum of ₦100,000 with one surety in the like sum.
The case was adjourned till February 4, 2026, for further hearing.
