In a statement by its National PRO, Lateef Dada, OAPU emphasized that Adegboye’s elevation reflects his demonstrated professionalism. The union urged him to continue upholding these standards, particularly in light of his support for the community in ensuring adequate security in Otan-Ayegbaju whenever assistance was needed.
“On behalf of Otan-Ayegbaju both at home and abroad, including the Owa of Otan-Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman Ojo-Fadipe, we congratulate our son, Funsho Adegboye, on his promotion to DIG by the police commission,” Mosebolatan said.
He expressed confidence that Adegboye’s promotion was well-deserved, highlighting that police promotions are typically granted in recognition of an officer’s professionalism.
The community urged him to justify the trust placed in him and continue working towards enhancing security.
He stressed that, “we pray to the Almighty to guide Adegboye in his new role, as we believe he will strive to combat insecurity in line with the renewed hope agenda of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu”.
