The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Thursday, published the final list of gubernatorial candidates and deputies for the August 15 election in the Osun State, as an Ile-Ife born politician Benjamin Adereti emerged as the deputy to All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji for the contest.
Adereti, an ex-House of Representatives candidate, replaced the former Osun House of Assembly lawmaker, Tunde Olatunji whose name was published in February 2026.
According to the list obtained by AFRESH247, “In Accord Party, Governor Ademola Adeleke(Ede)—Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi(Ile-Ife)—Deputy, while in AA, Olarewaju Farinloye—Governor and Fadahunsi Olaniyi—Deputy, AAC is Esan Olajide, deputy Bello Yekeen, ADC candidate is Salam Najeem as Yemisi Temitope got his deputy. ADP guber candidate is Adeagbo Opawoye as deputy is Atanda Babatunde.
“APC field Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji as governorship candidate while Benjamin Adereti is his deputy, in APGA, Adeyemi-Doro Olusanya as his deputy is Duro-Oni Duro, APM is Adewale Adebayo as his deputy is Jimoh Shina, APP is Adesuyi Banji Clement as his deputy is Odesola Oluseye, BP is Adeleke Masilo as his deputy is Aresa Kehinde Adenike.
“In NNPP, Adeleke Taofeek is the guber candidate as his deputy is Adeyera Adesola; PRP fielded Saliu Oyelami while his deputy is Adewale Alabi Solomon; YPP is represented by Ogunsakin Enoch and deputy is Oyetola Taye; ZLP is Adesuyi John Olufemi and he picked Abdulsalam Olamide.”
Reacting to the development, the director of media and publicity of the APC, said the choice of Adereti is a wining strategy for the party and will further cement the victory of the party come August 15, 2026.
