Renowned Nigerian comedian and content creator Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, is currently receiving medical treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound during a comedy skit production on Sunday afternoon.
The incident reportedly occurred while the entertainer was filming a scene under the Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State. Following the shooting, members of the production crew immediately rushed the comedian to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where he received initial stabilization and first aid.
He was subsequently transferred to Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja GRA for specialized care. Sources close to the situation indicate that the injury was sustained in his thigh and that he is currently recuperating.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that they were notified by the hospital regarding a gunshot victim. Police spokesperson,Abimbola Adebisi stated that detectives visited the medical facility and confirmed the victim’s identity.
“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” Adebisi explained.
While the victim is being treated in Lagos, the Ogun State Police Command has stated that the incident has not yet been officially reported at any of its stations. Ogun police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi noted that while the shooting was alleged to have happened within the state, no formal complaint had been lodged as of the time of his statement.
Broda Shaggi is a leading figure in Nigeria’s digital entertainment space, celebrated for his street-style humor and large social media following.
