The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming August 15, 2026, election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has urged citizens to look forward to a new era of inclusive and participatory governance.
In an Eid-el-Fitr message personally signed and released in Osogbo on Thursday, Oyebamiji felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast. He assured residents that his administration, if elected, would prioritize the welfare of the masses and establish a government that serves as a pride of all.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I sincerely acknowledge and rejoice with our brothers and sisters in Islam,” Oyebamiji stated. “Let’s await good governance that would be the pride of all—one that is inclusive, participatory, and focused on the people.”
With the state’s gubernatorial election only months away, he called on believers to use the festive period to pray fervently for a peaceful polling exercise. He emphasized that the current election year requires selflessness and a collective commitment to building a state where the rule of law and the security of lives and property are championed.
Oyebamiji also extolled the virtues of love, unity, and good neighborliness as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad, urging residents to maintain the spiritual dedication and benevolence practiced during the Holy Month.
“It is time for personal assessment; it is time for sacrifice and selflessness to promote peace and cohesion,” adding that, “I pray Almighty Allah spares our lives to celebrate many more prosperous celebrations on earth.”
The candidate concluded by thanking the people of Osun for their unflinching support, promising to significantly raise the bar of governance upon his emergence as Governor.
