The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi has accused the Federal Government of working to prevent him from appearing for any political party in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a sixty-minute interview on Magic FM Aba, Obi claimed that the current administration’s focus is to ensure that he does not participate in the upcoming race, saying “The present government is bent on making sure I am not a candidate for any party.”
Asserting his credentials, he described himself as the most qualified among the current crop of presidential aspirants. Obi also criticized the the Electoral Law recently signed by President Bola Tinubu.
“It is very shameful for Nigeria that the new Electoral Laws assented to by the President excluded forgery as a crime,” Obi said.
He described the exclusion of forgery as a crime within the new laws as shameful for the nation. Addressing Nigeria’s ongoing economic and leadership struggles, Obi maintained that the country’s recovery requires a leader with a proven track record in both business and general administration.
