The Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace, love, and religious harmony as Christians celebrate Easter.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses, Ooni noted that Easter symbolizes sacrifice, renewal, and hope, urging citizens to reflect virtues like selflessness and forgiveness. He emphasized that Nigeria’s progress depends on unity among its people, regardless of differences.
The monarch encouraged citizens to pray for the country, its leaders, and economic recovery, stressing that collective prayers and positive actions can overcome current challenges.
He acknowledged socio-economic difficulties but urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and resilient.
The Ooni also called on leaders to show compassion, integrity, and accountability, reiterating his commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue and mutual respect. He thereby wishes the Christians a joyful Easter, praying for renewed hope, peace, and prosperity.
