The management of Federal Polytechnic Ede has extended the start of the First Semester Examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session by two weeks.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by Secretary of the academic board, Alh. S. A. Rafiu, he revealed that the decision followed a meeting between management and the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Ede Chapter, held yesterday.
The statement partly reads, “Both sides reached an agreement to shift the exams to allow for better preparation and ensure the exercise runs smoothly. The extension is subject to approval by the Academic Board. According to the Secretary of the Academic Board, the move is aimed at ensuring all stakeholders are aligned for a coordinated and hitch-free examination.”
“Following a robust and constructive deliberation between Management and the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Ede Chapter, yesterday, a positive consensus was reached in the collective interest of the institution.
“In recognition of the need for inclusiveness, adequate preparation, and the seamless conduct of the First Semester Examinations for the 2025/2026 Academic Session, it was unanimously resolved that the commencement of the First Semester Examinations be extended by two (2) weeks, subject to ratification by the Academic Board.
“This decision is aimed at ensuring that all stakeholders are sufficiently aligned, thereby fostering a more coordinated, effective, and hitch-free examination exercise.”
